MOPanfisher Posted April 16, 2020 Posted April 16, 2020 Well I did get 2 mineral tubs filled with good black dirt and a spot leveled to set them. Now I got a get them wrasseled into bucket of tractor so I can move them. Then 2 more. Think I have wife convinced to just plant squash and cukes in old garden spot and let them fight for their living. Had a squash plant last year growing over fence in pasture that did well so maybe these will too, will just mow around them for this year to keep accessible. N9BOW 1

MOPanfisher Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 Cold frame beginning to produce letruce, some spicy radiahes, and some cute little beet greens, strawberry bed is looking good and beginning to have a few blooms, and 4 mineral tubs filled and set close to water hydrant. Only thing left is to plant some plants (maters in tubs, maybe maters in cold frame when it is done or regular beets and aome dill or who knows), old garden will get some zucchini and cukes planted among the grass and through some wed mat and have to fend for themselves. Who say a one armed guy can't do stuff. Partially due to Jerry Rapp suggestion, nap was THE ticket. Didnt sleep much but rested and while not moving things didn't hurt, thanks Jerry! wily, BilletHead, Johnsfolly and 1 other 4
Fish24/7 Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Planted from seed about 3 years ago maybe. Never grew taller than 6", never bloomed, survived the Winters. This year it took off! Looks like it's going to bloom! What the heck is it? I don't really remember.

jdmidwest Posted April 22, 2020 Author Posted April 22, 2020 Bought some more dirt today to refill the raised beds. Planted Sun Sugar, Cherry, and Grape tomatoes today. Sowed some green beans and sugar snap peas also. Filled the cells on the blocks and sowed some lettuce in them. Picked some lettuce and spinach. Strawberries looking pretty good. Been too busy doing other stuff to worry about the yard or bees or garden much. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
Terrierman Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 I've got five tomato plants, one hill of zucchini, one yellow crook neck and one hill of cucumbers in the ground. Tomato cages are in and tied to a t stake. That's it for in the ground. Lovey has a little herb garden and two tomato plants in the old water tank. Gotten lazy here in my dotage. Johnsfolly and Ham 2
N9BOW Posted April 22, 2020 Posted April 22, 2020 Have the next two days off!!!! Was going to be a trip to Mtn Home but well you know... So Ima gonna get my fly wheel puller and violate a troybuilt tiller assembly... Replace an oil seal, then hopefully over the next two days of PTO get some gardening/tilling work done... Beets, Carrots, Cucumbers, Squash, Corn, Watermelon, Tomatoes, peppers and cabbage, might put in some kale and more bunch onions too... Then lovingly clean up my tools and linseed oil the handles and sit back and realize..... I need to mow...then don the ear protection... But not before preparing an adult beverage (making sure that the number of jiggers is no so much that it affects my ability to track & navigate the lawn) and then mount that steel horse!.... Wish me luck!!!!! Oh Oh Oh... and Rutabaga! Terrierman 1

Wish me luck!!!!! Oh Oh Oh... and Rutabaga! Swede! It's SWEDE!. Came back from England first trip over, had never had it before but loved it. And could not find it here anywhere. And then, one bright shiny day, I figured it out. Gently noticing you are wisely not planting turnips. Those bitter grainy tough dang things are good for a food plot but not much else if you ask me. Deer like them. But it's weird, they don't hardly touch them until one night and then they are all gone. Good luck with the seal, the garden, the mowing and life in general! N9BOW 1
