Gavin Posted May 19, 2020 Posted May 19, 2020 Those buffalo gnats are no fun, worse than black flies. I would take either over a surprise attack by yellow jackets though. YJ’s are just vicious creatures. Have some herbs out but that’s it.
jdmidwest Posted May 19, 2020 Author Posted May 19, 2020 They fly around your head like dog pecker gnats. You never know it when they zap ya! Just feel a big stinging itchy welp as it swells. Usually with a red hole in center. That lasts for a few days then the center gets hard. May ooze some yellow fluid. Get enough bites, you get kinda feverish from swelling. I'll take a bee sting any day over them. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
fishinwrench Posted May 19, 2020 Posted May 19, 2020 Maybe a shower (once a week, whether you need it or not) would help. 😅 BilletHead 1

fishinwrench Posted May 19, 2020 Posted May 19, 2020 There was a popular lakeside eating/drinking establishment that couldn't get any return business because they couldn't control the flys that started swarming the place. The food was great but you had to eat with one hand and swat flys with the other. It was so bad every day that people just quit stopping there. They sprayed, put up screens, and did everything they could think of I'm sure.... but it was just uncontrollable. Why that particular spot was so bad, I dunno.

At least once a week.

snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 19, 2020 Posted May 19, 2020 I have a home defense model in fly Camo and a yellow garden one I take on trips. Last week was my first kill of the season.
