Second crop of lettuce is pickable but getting ignored in favor of strawberries. Sizes are trending down to what we used to call jam berries, same great flavor just smaller. Looks like I will be stemming and processing some tomorrow if the recliner doesn't call my name too loudly. Two days of IV infusions have l taken the top off of my energy level. But sliced and sugared berries will put it right back, and the rest into another batch of jam. Hang in there, seems like you are still up and running. 3 years ago this time, I was pretty well done for, coming out of the radiation and starting my low point. It will get better soon. Johnsfolly Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 certainly not as extensive as others on this thread but getting some size on our tomatoes. My wafe says that she has been picking the flowers and suckers evidence suggests not 🤔 Quillback 1
Johnsfolly Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 melons are doing well so far. Need to make a trellis or bamboo pyramid to get them something to grow onto. Quillback 1
Johnsfolly Posted June 6, 2020 Posted June 6, 2020 The peppers didn't like the winds that came through a couple of days ago. Need to get some stakes. Quillback 1

Never tried a melon in a pot, how does that work out? "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

Got five small but very tasty cantaloupes. Really just a novelty. Figure if we give them attention this year may get a few more. We'll see.
Fish24/7 Posted June 7, 2020 Posted June 7, 2020 About a month late planting peas but they are blooming now,a few small pods here and there too. A little crowded, but space is limited. Did a little defoliation on the mater, it was just getting too dang lush. I like an airy plant, helps prevent disease and fungus. First tomato of 2020 is on the vine. By the looks of it ,it's going to be a thooster!! Johnsfolly 1
