Gumboot Posted March 31, 2020 Posted March 31, 2020 I grew up with dogwoods blooming, crappie on the banks. Over the past few years my new one has been red buds poppin, white bass runnin. Caught 21 sunday, kept 5 for fish tacos, all males on a 1/8 oz roadrunner. In a creek that you have to walk about a mile and half to fish, and that you can wade across in several places... in knee boots. I have a fancy fishing boat, but this is my favorite kind of fishing. Going tomorrow and see if I haven't missed the gals. Didn't see but one other person, so social distancing accomplished. Flyfisher for men Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 Good for you! Unfortunately for me, access to the white bass here is restricted due to stay at home orders.

Quillback Posted April 1, 2020 Posted April 1, 2020 Red buds have definitely popped here in NWA, and the guy I was fishing with today did catch a couple of whites, but we were targeting black bass and walleye. Talked to a buddy of mine and he says he and his son really got into the whites on Sunday in a cove in the Indian creek area of Beaver lake. I have a dogwood in my back yard that is just about ready to bloom. BilletHead 1

Today. I'm done with them as I don't like to freeze them and wife says enough, time for crappie. BilletHead, nomolites, dtrs5kprs and 1 other 4

snagged in outlet 3 Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 I’ve said it many times on here. I drove 8 hour round trips and never caught one. They could be running in my kitchen sink and I wouldn’t catch one. mixermarkb 1
MOPanfisher Posted April 2, 2020 Posted April 2, 2020 I love white bass tacos. Grill them fillets with cajun seasoning let them cool and flake them apart. Mix up a tadziki sauce with a little citrus hit and some fresh greens from cold frame (lettuce radish and beet greens).mmmmm Red buds here in polk Co just starting to pop out.
