Presidents are career limited. Limit on a term is the terms end, and the pols that get reelected don't do that on their own- they can only be reelected if the voters want them to. We do need voter identification and we mostly need a literacy requirement for eligibility to vote. Every citizen alive today has had free schooling, there is no reason they should not be able to comprehend what they read. This country is where we are not because of lousy politicians but because of lousy voters.

Something to think about though before we set career limits on the Congress, is a Senator is eligible for a pension after one term. So we can have a 100 career Senators that never draw a retirement or we can have 1-2000 one term Dilberts all collecting pensions for many many years. The one term wonders will be just as crooked as the lifers there will just be lots more of them.

Term limits is just something people want the guy they don't like to have to adhere to.  Don't like that your Congressman is a Democrat?  Term limit him outa there!

Term limits for Congress and House.  4 years and done.

The world would be a better place.  No Pelosi, McConnell, or the majority of them.  One and done, two at the most.  Bunch of do nothing clowns that are running the country.  Our Senate and House are a joke, all parties.

I was very surprised to hear @ColdWaterFshr say he doesn’t like socialism or communism. Let’s be real here. If that were really the case you’d be voting Republican. So Andrew, let me ask you a question and be real here...if Trump was completely out of the picture, would you vote Republican in The 2020 presidential election? Because really, other than Bloomberg, who’s obviously out, who the heck could you possibly vote for?

What??

I don't vote for a party, never have.  But looking at the past few months, the lock-step Republican party has proven beyond any shadow of a doubt to be a party of cowardice and self-preservation.  They're terrified to speak out.  They HATED Trump, do you remember that?  Didn't want him to win the nomination . . . . AT ALL.  He practically put a gun to their head.   Short memory, Mitch?  But his charismatic reality TV persona could not be ignored, and that he was very direct, non-politician sounding, and appeared to be successful, Hilary was a phony and more of the same (agreed) . . . . and a shocking percentage of the country was, and shamefully and foolishly still is, thirsty for his brand of kool-aid . . . .

But now we are being served Clorox bleach.  He truly is Jim Jones Guyana Tragedy, but on a FAR bigger and more dangerous level.

. . . .. . so back to your "let's be real here" point.  Nearly a 3 trillion dollar bail-out under this administration.  Yeah, lets talk about communism and socialism.  Because we are effectively there NOW.  Stimulus checks in your mailbox with his signature, as if drawn from his own personal account.  Nice touch, Mao.  You can't make this stuff up!!  Bernie couldn't even imagine socialism of this proportion. And don't give me this crap about how the economy was rolling before the pandemic.  If Americans can't make it 2 weeks without a paycheck, how great of an economy was it really?

Read history.  Learn about past presidents.  Their failures, their ego's, how they handled adversity.  We have a petulant child in charge.  56,000 dead in 2 months, approaching more than we lost in Vietnam in 10 years and he assumes no responsibility.  He has officially abdicated all responsibility to the States, and yet he continues to pat himself on the back.  Proud of his Facebook ratings.  WTF?   November is all he cares about

Nothing would please me more than to see both parties disbanded.  I certainly can't stomach Biden, but I will vote for him.  Hell, I would vote for Paul Dallas at this point.

Well, the economy was rolling big time  actually. I don’t think giving people stimulus checks is the same as classic socialism. It’s a flat out bail out.  They are forcing people to basically stay away from others and stay at home. They know that no one can do business and make money money when most things are non operational? This virus will pass and we will eventually be back to semi normal. And by the way, great economy or not,  people will live from paycheck to paycheck regardless. I wouldn’t mind to see both parties disabled either, actually. But Speaking of being thirsty for his brand of koolaide ... it goes both ways. You don’t think Free college Tuition, free healthcare, raising of minimum wage is koolaide?
And to address your point about the Republicans not backing Trump, it’s very simple, they had their fingers in the pie along with Democrats. They were all deep state.
