So I don't talk about work much, over the years 20+ I have been a mule! (someone to count on... Might have to put up with the balling and hollering! much like a mule) cause I produce results. I have been selected in the past for PBM3 management training and went through the program.. immensely valuable!
It was an honor out of 400k employees to get the training.... but I have turned down 2 other offers to manage a team. Because this is  quandary for me!...
So....I have now stepped into the fray and applied for two position for O365 management positions.. I think I am well qualified to lead and direct this group.. kinda scary even at 53... but times are a changing and I think now's the time for change.

At the end of that day, if I don't get it, I am sure I will be an integral part of the team moving forward in Cloud based solutions and the changes that are coming down the pike!.... so I'm good either way!.. (mules don't need much to make em happy)

Tomorrow is my interview for two positions., had the HR interview today.. went well (useless in my opinion). New position(s)....managing level 2/3 engineers and the other is level 3 engineers.  BTW - level 3 is SHTF.... engineers! For those level 3 engineers out there.....:scared: of which I have been one for 16 years.

Appreciate the support! if you have it to give.... Otherwise my wife is gonna have too! :dizzy:

You know already what I think of your abilities.  And you darn well know you have my support in everything you do.

How many people will you be responsible for?  Because that's what it will  boil down to.  All of their problems will be your problem too.  All of their successes will be your successes.  What you do personally will shrink in importance to what your group does.  Two things I learned over my lifetime of running people.  Make your expectations as clear as you possibly can and stick with them.  The other is one bad apple really can spoil the whole barrel.  If you have a bad feeling about someone, the rest of your team probably does too.  Don't hesitate to act when that comes up - and it will.

Finally some real words to live by, especially as a manager.  Davy Crockett's not mine "Be sure you're right.  Then go ahead."

You'll do well pilgrim.

My very best to you.

I appreciate your WISDOM Rick!
I truly do!!!!!... bank on it :relief:... i JUST TUCKED AWAY ALL THOSE TIDBITS OF WISDOM!!... not sure how many people will report to the position if I am fortunate enough to be picked (there are tons of applicants Pool of thousands) !. I would have to recruit a team and I have no idea what the budget is for this group... The guy newly promoted to the Sr Director role thats hiring this position has a wealth of experience but none in this realm.. he will rely on his reports to get things done (I am sure i can help here....have two years building and growing this platform).. Could be 4-7 reports....who know at this point.. What i do know is we are going to be merging with the corporate O365 tenant in 2-4 years and I have been around the block or two with M&A's and these sort of migrations...Hopefully he see's the benefit of what I can bring to the table Brother! BTW providing Mom is in good enough health, plan to don your mask and come down in June... Social Distancing is in order.. Cast Iron Cooking is required!!!! Fish in the boat a PLUS!!!

AND THAT GOES FOR ALL OF YOU!!!! SERIOUS... May need an additional boat though... Mine is big....but not big enough for more than 4!
