Post spawn Female Smallmouth

Males are somewhat still on beds, guarding fry, In my opinion, it’s a great spawn.  Had a huge blow up on a buzz bait today in shallow riffle. Followed it up with 3.5” swimmer and connected on this girl. 20” long and 4.4 lbs.

It stunk at Sappington yesterday. We caught 9-10 fish and only one keep. Pretty well the story for everybody. Just came down to how luck you were on getting the keeper bites. BB was 2.65 largemouth and I think that was the only green bass weighed in.

Totally sucked today a lot farther upstream.  Caught one 16 inch largemouth, one 13 inch smallmouth, and maybe 7 or 8 undersize fish.  Fished hard from 7 AM until the kayak hatch commenced about noon.

You're not lying about the kayak hatch.  Holy cow I've never seen so many floaters.  Danged sun dolphins are so cheap everyone has to get one!

I counted 17 on cars on my way home from tablerock.  I was driving so I’m sure I missed dozens more.   You can buy them just about everywhere.
