SplitG2 Posted June 12, 2020 Posted June 12, 2020 Caught some on a spook on a main lake point early. Had a clear one-knocker on, caught 2 and missed several. Should have used white, which I realized I left on the dock. It’s hard to leave active fish but should have. The surfacing fish seemed to be big singles, not packs like normal this time of year. Final did go get my gear, went back and caught one quickly before it was over. Moved to a gravel run out and caught a great smallmouth on a 1/2oz pbj football head jig with cinnamon twin tail grub dragged like a c rig, that spit it at the boat. Switched to a pbj ned and caught 2 more before going in. Also, checked a big brush pile on a another gravel point for drop shot fish before I left but no one home yet. merc1997 Bo, magicwormman, Quillback and 2 others 5
Bill Babler Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 Nice 18+ inch Jaw Randy caught on a jointed Redfin. Totally hammered it. Nice report, it has gotten pretty tough. We had 14 yesterday but it was totally over for us about 0800. Split hit it right on the head, no wolf packs unless you are lucky enough to get into some surfacing whites. Singles will come up between 5 and about 7 then you have to go to work big time. If the wind starts to blow that 2.8 Keitech will still get bit with some regularity till about 9 then best to put it on the trailer Drop shot fish are simply very few and far between. I took crawlers for the first time this year yesterday and we caught 2 on them, both dinks, they are simply not grouped and scattered thru the water column from right on the bank to 50' and then again at depth scattered thru the column. bobby b. Posted June 13, 2020 Posted June 13, 2020 I was out yesterday as well from about 7 - 9 around the Indian Point area - WT in the morning about 74. Found fish in 15 - 20 fow (both on the pocket side of a point and outside the green timber) generally just one or two in a place although in one place after hooking a smaller Spot the graph lit up indicating there were other fish there but then no play. Cooler morning made it very pleasant. Did have the wake boat skiers making the boat rock and roll at times. Bobby Quillback, SplitG2 and Dock-in-it 3
SplitG2 Posted June 13, 2020 Author Posted June 13, 2020 The top water bite was slower this morning but managed a few before it was over. Attached are some pics from the last 2 days, including a really nice 19.5” smallmouth that I caught on top this morning. She knocked my spook 3’ in the air but missed it and when I went to walk it again the lure was fouled on the leader and would not work, so I dropped that rod and left the spook floating. Grabbed another rod with a red fin and threw it Into the action. And of course the fish hit the spook with the rod now laying on the floor! I dropped the Redfin rod picked up the spook rod and get her in the boat. It was comical. rps, abkeenan, m&m and 2 others 5

Emails and phone calls might not be being ignored but they sure ain't being returned either. Unless of course you're talking about Vexus in which case I got nothing...... Good luck - I hope it shows up soon! "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." George Carlin "The only money ever wasted is money never spent." Me.

Good luck - I hope it shows up soon! The dealer can track boat build progress on the Ranger website (I cannot) plus they must have an unlisted phone number to call Ranger and they respond immediately. When I called Ranger I always got the operator but I always got the voice mail of the one I needed to talk to and they never called back. You might try your local dealer or if you dont have one near by, call the Branson West Marine parts guy - they seem to be on the ball. Bobby
vernon Posted June 16, 2020 Posted June 16, 2020 Yeah, that's probably what I'm gonna have to do but I'd been dealing directly with Ranger parts and the repair department since October without any real problems although they weren't anywhere near as helpful and accommodating as they were in the "old days." Up until four or five years ago a guy could pretty much get whatever he wanted whenever he wanted it but now there's a lot of hemhawing around about how busy they are and how they're not sure when or if they can do this or that. In fact, I was told directly not to bother calling them or leaving voicemails because they "probably wouldn't have time" to call back. I was told instead to email them and even then it was taking a couple of days or more to get a response. And these aren't "new" folks that I'm dealing with but rather a guy and a gal that have provided superb customer service to me in years past. Anyways, I've had a new trailer fender sitting down there since December and was supposed to take the boat down in March to get it installed as we were hoping to combine the repair trip with some fishing on Bull Shoals. Of course everyone knows what happened next and I haven't been able to contact a live person at Ranger since then. Could be worse though - I could be waiting on a whole new dad gum boat in which case I'd be losing my dang mind! "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups."
