July 18th Mill creek Tourney

Hey guys the Tin boat bass club is having a tournament out of Mill the 18th 5-100.  All boats welcome this year, It's been tough over the years getting all aluminum so this year were allowing glass also.  $35 if you fish alone, or $70 for a team, We try to make it affordable if your alone.   Message me with any questions.

That’s surprising you don’t get more tin boats out. Sounds like a fun time. I assume it’s 5am-1pm or is it an evening tournament?

i just noticed this ties in with the one bass tournament as well...so maybe that will drive higher numbers

Not throwing a wet blanket, but the water temps are rising like crazy.  We had 84 degree surface temps yesterday and it will be upper 80's to 90 by July 18.  99% of the fish we  are catching are at 26' to 36' so it is going to be really, really hard on them.

The water is moving so slow thru the dam a thermocline is building and there will be a well established line by the 18th.

Fish care for any derby in the heat of the Summer like that is going to be a major issue.

Don't know your program, but if your transporting and weighing at a central location, 2 fish might be the best bet.

Bill: I'm so glad to see you throw your voice into this debate. Your opinion carries a lot of weight on here and around the Table Rock area. We HAVE TO come up with a better way than transporting 5 fish around all day in upper 80"s water temps. I am NOT anti tournament. I've fished a few and it was fun. It did get the competitive juices flowing. But its 2020. Its time to adjust our way of thinking. I know you are a humble man Bill I just wanted to thank you for lending your 2 cents to this issue. We are seeing people like Pat Mahomes voice their opinions on social issues. He talks, people listen!!

I’d be all for the same setup Kayak tournaments use. The same one I think was used for the ozark anglers tournament. If they had something like that with a low entry fee, that would be great. I’m not out there to make money (almost no one does), but I do like to compete. But I don’t enjoy the moral quandary of dragging fish all over the lake.

There's actually an app for catch and release tournaments called Fish Donkey. Looks like you register your tournament with them and then fisherman you the app to record their catches by length.

I have an aluminum boat that has livewells custom built to keep trout alive with not only a recirculation but a timed intake.  This works well in cold water for the trout and keeps them frisky, but I would not even think about putting a bass in there with these water temps and maybe even worse is the amount of boat traffic creating a washing machine affect especially on the rock on a July weekend.

Run the recirculation and not the intake on a constant mode with a block of ice then a bag with a rejuvenate product of your choice and only weigh 2 fish and I really think they would be alright if they were not deep fish at 30' plus, that needed fizzed.

Have no problems with Derby's and have fished 100's, but not in July  and not with this heat and boat traffic.

And yes the Yaker's have it right.  That's the way to go in the Summer, measure them and get em back in the same place you found them.

You leave a bunch of dead fishing floating around a boat ramp this time of the year and everyone gets a black eye.  And by a bunch 3 or 4 white bellies floating around looks like a dozen, cause it probably is.
