Wrench is right.  I know a couple guys who towed boats back to AR after the DMV denied their documents.....

I hear you on that, but just saying that AR does not issue boat titles.

I just registered an outboard from there. We filled out a 1957, and I made sure to get the previous registration documents to back up all of the info. They took it without a hitch, had a title a week later.

I may do it more in the future, seems like anything with titles here is automatically worth double. Can run over to Arkansas or Kansas and get them cheaper.

Supposedly an official bill of sale is sufficient if you bought from an actual dealer (business) that has a tax#,. But somebody (individual) scribbling out a bill of sale on a piece of notebook paper.....Forget it!

Guys, If you will look at the original posters history you will see he posted this boat for $1000 some time back. I (and others) tried to come look at this boat.  No reply, he went silent.  

Fast forward to this posting, I recognized the boat and the poster. I was interested but I didn't bother contacting because I figured something wasn't right given what happened before. I almost started to post this earlier but didn't want to seem like I was trying to stir up stuff. 

Anyway,  something odd with this deal.  Classic scam, one grainy picture of a boat (or truck, jetski,  or other toy) for cheap price. Then no reply. But they got your number.

You can see where I looked at his profile after he posted it this year and I just knew it was fishy.

All depends on the license agent.  I have bought last 2 boats from IL.  They title boat and trailer.  Not the Motor.  Just need a valid serial number.

IL titles kayaks and all non motorized water vessels.  They carve numbers into all plastic boats there, certificate of origin its called.

TN does not license trailers and is goofy about they way they register marine vessels too.  Titles don't show lein holders.
