oneshot 1 Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Getting ready to build a Covered Deck. Ok know Screws will hold better but Nailer would be much faster. Which to use? oneshot

oneshot Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Ok Screws it is. I was thinking about using Braid Nailer to put Screen up but if I ever replace it screws would be better. oneshot
MOPanfisher Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 I don't even put trim up with nails anymore. They make special trim screws. Now if only all screws used the same bit that would be great. I have Phillips, square, square/phillips, torn in 3 sizes, spend half my time trying to fund the right bit. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
oneshot 1 Posted July 23, 2020 Author Posted July 23, 2020 I got to get them Bits that hold my Screws found it's a bugger with one hand. Funny I can start out holding it and then my arm leaves. Not really good. oneshot
Dutch Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 The star heads are by far my favorite. I sent all of my Phillips heads to the landfill. MOPanfisher 1
BilletHead Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 Boy that will be a bunch of screwing. Will almost screw yourself to death. I agree that is the way to go. Screwing can pull down and straighten some crooked boards. Torx heads for sure. Hope you can find lumber. Shelves are pretty empty. Have fun and good luck. Nice to have a project to keep yourself busy. Ham Posted July 23, 2020 Posted July 23, 2020 Yeah, modern deck screws with T20 or T25 Head. They give you a free bit with the larger boxes Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
