wily Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 ^^^^^ i agree...get a guide Pack bug spray —- we went to white bear lake once in the fall when I was a kid...40 years ago. I don’t remember much...except the mosquitoes there’s a cabelas In owatonna on the way up...if you want to buy leaches If renting a bare bones fishing boat...take a trolling motor, battery and basic fishfinder.
Quillback Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Never been myself either, but if you do a search on Mille Lacs fall fishing I bet you'll get a few videos to watch.
Members pjlures Posted September 1, 2020 Members Posted September 1, 2020 Been there a couple times. Best luck we had was on points on east side. They would move in mostly in evening. Caught 18- 22 inches. Tube lures and ned's and spinning rods. We went in June so things may change this time of year. There are some large rocky areas in lake as well. Great place to go. Big water and can be windy at times. Have fun and be safe.
Smithvillesteve Posted September 1, 2020 Author Posted September 1, 2020 Thanks boys. Yea, wasnt thinking about bug spray. Good advice. I been watching some videos Quillback. Looks like off shore structure with drop shots is the best bet. Tubes, jigs, cranks, jerkbaits. Supposedly the guy I'm going with bought the map card that gives us offshore structure. I been going to Canada every year for the last 40 years but obviously not this year. So at the very least i am getting my "northern fix"!! Appreciate the info boys!!
