trythisonemv Posted September 11, 2020 Author Posted September 11, 2020 Taking a friend down in two weeks ... this will be our weapon of choice. It has been a long time since I've been down. Having a baby doesn't allow for much fishing laker67, FishnDave, Johnsfolly and 1 other 4

Members jwpage Posted September 21, 2020 Members Posted September 21, 2020 Nice looking flies. I'm looking at making a trip in November. If you don't mind, what are a few good patterns and sizes to use and also, do you guys ever use indicators or do you tightline? Thanks in advance. Use drop shot alot and two flies always. For dries use 16 to 10 caddis same for hoppers or cricket. Buggers are best at size 10 to 6. Big flies work well

My nymphing mentor said something once that has always stuck with me.... "I'd rather fish a single fly well, than to fish several flys half-assed". I've never had my butt kicked by anyone fishing a dropper, but if I ever do I'll certainly revisit it. trythisonemv 1
trythisonemv Posted September 22, 2020 Author Posted September 22, 2020 Not a dry dropper wrench but a drop shot . I tie an double over hand knot where the point fly would go or I use a heavy bead head fly . Then about 12 inches above I tie a blood knot and attach a dropper loop with a perfection loop and put an unweighted fly or lightly weighted dependent on current flows. Crane I use two flies bigger water I use two flies and a split shot dropped off the eye of my point fly. Very effective for short line work. Dry dropper is rare but I will use it occasionally on crane . Johnsfolly 1
