SplitG2 Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 Fished most of the day. It was tough but great weather and very little boat traffic. Water temp was 81 and had a good green tint. Had few blow ups on a spook early up shallow but couldn’t pin them. Caught a few 14” spots on a drop shot on a gravel run out. Those fish were definitely scattered. I normally see them waded up near bait or brush but today I had to move around and target small arches of 1-3 fish and then was luckily to get a few to bite. A small pocket near the run out had a lot of active fish in 29’ near bait in the middle of it but couldn’t get any of them to bite. Decided after too long they might not be bass and moved on. Went shallow with a jig the rest of the day. Squeezed out a 1/2 dozen short fish and one good LM, the only keeper of the day. merc1997 Bo, magicwormman, big c and 5 others 8
Quillback Posted September 12, 2020 Posted September 12, 2020 Thanks for the report. I haven't been out on TR in a while but might make it next week. I don't expect I'll be filling the boat with them, but looks like it will be good weather to fish in. I'll probably do about the same thing you did, start out with a top water, then throw jigs, drag some plastics, swim the ol' Keitech, maybe do a little cranking. vernon 1

Heading that way in a couple hours for the week. 🧟♂️ remember? However, I'm thinking I might take a week off from wreaking death, destruction and mayhem in general and save the really good stuff for October or maybe even next spring. In fact, this one kind of went off in my hand as the past week here at home has been cold and miserable to the point of feeling like a fishing trip without the lake. Highs in the low 50's and lows in the low 40's with wind and rain and just all around nasty. A taste of November during the first week of September actually. Nonetheless, what you describe is pretty much what I had in mind other than I'm really looking forward to FINALLY getting a chance to try out Bo's Big Wobbler! See y'all soon....... Well the forecast for next week looked so good I assumed that maybe you'd had a change of plans. But thanks for doing us a solid by giving us a week of good weather. 😀 vernon 1

Just out kinda cruisin’ as Kathy likes her boat rides and I figure I’m not missing out on many fish driving her around. In fact haven’t so much as made a cast yet. big c Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 Very good! We've been catching them pretty good around our area, not really going far. Kip is working from here for a couple more days then headed back to Iowa. We usually get out around 3:30 when he gets done for the day. Anyway, still in the red/black Skeeter. Hollar if ya see us! That goes for all on here, stay safe. Chris Quillback 1
