I debone deer, no need for a saw to process deer.  What I need is someone to cut up the big chunks into grinder size chunks.  For some reason that downward push in cutting up meat and my new shoulder parts do not work together well.  Can easily lift up a 5 gallon jug of diesel to put in tractor but try to push downward to even make chops out of a nice pork loin and my shoulder screams.  Fortunately my wife hasn't pulled the trigger on any deer yet so I haven't had to really give it a workout.

We cut some Roast.

I can take my good Arm put my bad Arm up where I want it but if I lose my grip it comes down and it don’t matter if my Knife is there or not.

Like I told my wife it could get bad.

We had a Meat Saw years ago and found it wasn’t needed. Got a Grinder now and it is used.

All the processors are too busy doing good paying jobs(cows/hogs) so they aren't taking deer.  They have been totally booked since covid.  We butchered a hog last week, and my cousin made an appointment for a cow for NEXT december.

It sure is nice to be able to process your own meat. Glad we don't have to stress out over that bs.

I remember going by a Butcher Shop years ago people lined up with their Deer.

First couple of years the brother and I hunted we took our deer to processors, next few years we field dressed them and processed them in the garage, then we took a our stuff to the farm and started butchering them in camp. Now we have it down to about an hour an animal. If I need to mix sausage or fat in to make burgers I thaw and do it one dinner at a time.

Lts of the local places around here are doing deer.  More profitable for the amount of work.  At least I think brings in a bunch of refer trailers and processes them separately.  You can really stick it to deer hunters on the cost, usually they have a lot of it made into summer $au$age, Schrocks added a second smoker, think that gives 4000 lb capacity at a time!

I do usually keep a hind quarter mostly whole to brine, inject and smoke.over winter.

My best friend that I used to process all our deer together with up and died on me.  I still have the stuff and the know how but find myself lacking the want to.  Our local processing plant is working deer just like alwways.

I hear ya, dad gone a long time, mom a few months, kids grew up and moved out, grandson not quite.old enough YET.  The knowledge and.ability is there just the "fun" is missing, much the reason i don't hunt deer to speak of anymore, rather go fishing.

I know.  I still like the venison though.  So still go.  But it's now almost sad to kill anything.  Almost.  But I still do.
