wily Posted December 21, 2020 Author Posted December 21, 2020 Ya...I didn’t figure yours was a fox. I think the feet are cool but my guy said it wasn’t worth it. 25 bucks doesn’t seem like deal breaker to me
Devan S. Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 Nice! I put some steel down yesterday. Been awhile since I've been able to really put in some time. Have all week off but wanting to fish everyday and still needing to run traps runs me short on time real fast. Goals for this year were to catch mink and a rat. Wanting an otter but outside boat dock checking I don't have a good spot without burning some gas. Got several furs on the wall but never have caught a red fox, mink, rat, or otter. One of these days I'll stumble into one of each. Also want a badger but at this point wont ever happen. wily and BilletHead 2

Devan S. Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 There definitely caught from time to time(Missouri Trappers group on Facebook shows them fairly often). Considering most of my trapping is within 5 miles of the Arkansas border I doubt very seriously it happens. Most likely is mid to northern Mo.
wily Posted December 21, 2020 Author Posted December 21, 2020 Devan..you never caught a muskrat? Heck that’s almost like a rite of passage. I hope you get one this year... i don’t mean that bad...but shoot I remember catching them when I was young...just a teenager in the creek behind my parents house. Best thing about a muskrat is how easy they are to skin...good luck

We have native reds and the bigger European reds..here the coyotes rule...greys do better because they climb well MONKEYS? what monkeys?
MoCarp Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 I used to trap a bit back in the day, loved it...still would if my health allowed...here is a few pics....I’ve caught pretty much everything but a red fox and badger...they are around just not as many.....for years thought about a north road trip for critters we don’t have here...well any more.....did see a weasel once near mindenmines....a few reds....tried all season once on a big badger I had tracked scouting one year..never even pinched his toe MONKEYS? what monkeys?

Best thing about a muskrat is how easy they are to skin...good luck Nope the reason is that I never really water trapped at all. Everything we ever did was in the woods or pasture. Rumor has it that mink/rats are fairly easy. We will see. I've seen a lot of mink where I'm set so I know I'm where they are. Just pocket sets along the bank...only time will tell. The one time I did set a water trap a buddy said he seen a Beaver go in a hole so we tossed a 330 over it and caught one right away. wily 1

My Blink camera records 30-40 videos a night. We live about a mile from the Missouri River and we are inundated with wild animals. I love all the neighbors freaking out on the Nextdoor app about coyotes and fox. Some want to kill them and they get deleted and some want save them. Like this mangy yore. I’ve caught him on my cameras limping around. wily 1
