A few got taken away to prison. Most returned after failing once, regrouped and either left AGAIN, or stayed and became stagnant. A couple of them left and got killed 😟 Only one of my old friends is still married to his highschool sweetheart. Neither of them ever went to college, and they now own a successful swimming pool company in the STL area.

One is an engineering manager and the other is a lead manufacturing engineer. Engineering degree gives you the fundamentals, on the job shows you practical application. Both in this case have worked their way into their positions. The difference is they have both been with our company 30+ years and have a ton of on-the-job training. Good luck even getting in the door without a BS now. Hell, many engineering positions are even requiring a Masters, for a position that probably pays 50k to start with, give or take. College shouldn't be free. But it should be attainable without a note that is comparable to a mortgage. Tuition has gone exponentially higher over the past few decades, far outpacing wages. Worse yet, a larger pool of college educated workers has created a barrier of entry to many positions, so you have a huge loan to pay, with meager job prospects. darn if you do, darn if you don't. snagged in outlet 3 and Mitch f 1 1 -Austin
oneshot Posted December 31, 2020 Author Posted December 31, 2020 Knew a Guy that was Shipping Clerk many years. New people took over the company, found out he couldn’t read so he lost his Job. I worked for one company didn’t have a degree in Agriculture Field but knew my stuff. Was always showing College Kids what to do. Then they would move on. Funny they sent me on a trip to supposedly learn more about a piece of equipment. Funny thing is I showed them. School had a test one time 80 questions. I memorized all the answers. The other students was crying it wasn’t fair the way I did. Instructor told them that was the only way to pass the test. oneshot
