netboy Posted April 7, 2021 Posted April 7, 2021 Wow, after reading all this I am amazed at how many minnow species there are in the rivers up here. Back in south Texas we had mullet and mud minnows (killifish) and that was about it... but then maybe there is multiple species of the killifish??? dtrs5kprs 1

Yes there are multiple species of killifish or topminnows in that part of Texas. You probably have seen gulf killifish which are very common. Maybe some golden killifish. Those mummichogs that Livie and I caught are the first killifish species we've caught this year but more will come. Ham will have a few more after his northern studfish. dtrs5kprs 1

I always went out with the castnet during flounder season and the mud minnows were the "flounder candy". Never knew there were multiple species.

Ill let them speak to location or not, but man, I wish I could fish there more often. timinmo, Quillback, FishnDave and 3 others 6 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future.
