They are hard fighters. They are able to use the current as well during the fight. Both Livie and Sue enjoyed catching decent shad. I'm headed to Charleston in April.  I have a redfish guide trip booked but he said it's probably the worse time of year to do.  Which seems strange because in FL and LA April is THE month to go.

(FND08) Koi (Carpio beatificus):

These have been on my fly rod bucket list for many years.  Caught 13 yesterday...various colors and scale patterns.  The middle one (silver mirror koi) in the first photo was the first:

Here's a few other standouts from the bunch:

And my favorite 2.... I've given them names.... "Rudolph" and "Campfire":

@Johnsfolly Yes, my locally.    I caught them very close to where I was at the time. 😜

Caught 7 of these yesterday on the fly rod.

Still know where a pond full. Free for the taking. Don't know where you were fishing Dave but here if you catch one the jigs up. Pretty spooky. That's with the flyrod though. Bet you could clean house if you were a bait thrower.

I'd still like to fish your pond.  Looked like your koi were bigger than these, and red ones!  Plus you have catfish too.

Can do. We will fillet some koi out and have a shore lunch.

The koi and goldfish all hit 1/80th oz microjigs suspended under an indicator.  Most were caught on chartreuse.  I switched to white after most of the marabou got torn of the chartreuse...and the goldfish especially liked the white.

(the ones below are silver, not the white I mentioned)
