The Push for 100 Species in 2021

I knew that our next spot held a bunch of blennies and gobies, but also a hopeful lifer for Livie, a needlefish. She wanted that fish as her 100th species. We saw only one needlefish that was gone almost as soon as we saw it. Livie did hook up with her 100th species at that spot 😁.

Maybe even more impressive is that of those 100 species 56 were lifers. Helps to have an obsessive father😅.

We were fishing the Chincoteague bay in Virginia. I didn't expect those guys. Thought that they might have been black drum. Pleasantly surprised when they weren't 😉. Happy but would have been nice to catch some of the bigger ones.

I do want to thank @Ham and @FishnDave for there help and great information on different species that we were able to catch to get to these total numbers! This was a great year. A few more new fish will be caught thru Dec. I am very happy on what we all were able to accomplish.

This really was the last year I was going to dedicate myself to the 100 species quest. I am so Pleased that I was able to get there. I certainly didn't get there without the help from friends. I doubt I would have gotten to 100 species without that help.

I hope to catch a few more species and a LOT more fish before the year is over, but I'm certainly a lot less stressed now.

Let me add my thanks to the pile.  @Ham and @Johnsfolly helped me get some new sunfish species this year…Redspotted Sunfish, Warmouth, Dollar Sunfish, Bantam Sunfish.  100 species was not my goal, but I definitely enjoy catching a variety and new-to-me species.  
Ham knows where several other species I want are… alligator gar, spotted gar, bowfin, flier, chain pickerel, grass pickerel… no pressure! 😝
