Donna and I have the Bill Babler signature series senior tag. 🦕🦖🦕 😆😂 No more stopping at the gate for us.

I never leave home without it. One in each vehicle and one in my wallet.

This summer I saw the COE dude writing tickets at Aunts Creek.  Friends ask me about Indian Creek - I don't think you have to pay at Indian Point - I can never remember which is which the the old timers pass stays hanging in my truck.  I use to leave it laying on the dash, but got a warning that if it was not hanging on the mirror, I would get a ticket - gotta love the COE.

This last summer I questioned a COE dude for writing a ticket to a guy who had parked his rig perpendicular to the single car parking lines where nobody would have parked without a trailer anyway (near the upper Aunts Creek ramp).  He said he should have unhooked the trailer and used just two spots.  I told him that that would just have created more congestion with those trying to use the adjacent ramp.  He asked if I wanted a ticket as well for interfering with official business.  I think he was new because his hat and badge looked brand new.  My encounters with these guys are always memorable.  Fortunately these guys are not issued guns.  Sorry for the rant.

Two years ago I was driving my 4 wheeler down to our dock, while the COE was doing their dock inspection. The first words out of the young mans mouth were, you got a handicap permit for that thing! I replied no sir, but I can get one as I have a disability. His reply was, you better get one because the next time I catch you without one it will cost you $100. I'm sure this guy was brand new on the job and he had a young female partner that he was trying to impress. I believe everyone over 75 does not need a handicap permit, but I was only 72 at the time so I went to the trouble of getting one! It would have been nice to get a good morning or how are you doing, before his lecture!

Some of us (of age) have steps to get into the boat on the lift.  During our last dock inspection the COE dude wanted us to take them down.  At the time I was 69.  I told him that was the only way I could get my 93 year old Mom into the boat for a boat ride so he let it slide.  Since he let mine go, he let the other two go as as well.  We have a dock inspection coming up and am wondering was is going to be wrong this time.  It's actually worse than taking a 30 year old car in for the state inspection and wondering what will be wrong..

Just a follow up on this. I sent the COE an email last week asking what all they needed to get me a pass. Had a voicemail on my phone from them.

Called back this morning and the lady in the office just took my CC information over the phone and they will mail out my pass today. Easy Peasy.
