Fish24/7 Posted January 4, 2021 Posted January 4, 2021 1/3 Fished from the bank from 9:30-2. Fished 2 places. Sunny and no wind to start. First spot was a deep, ledge rock type bank, It gave up one keeper largemouth on a small lucky craft jerkbait . Lure was about 8" under the surface and I watched her eat it. Next couple casts I could see fish about the same size swim up to the bait a foot or so deep, take a sniff ,and turn away. One those times adding scent to the lure may have helped. I'm guessing it was at least 8' deep right next to the bank where the fish were because I couldn't see the bottom there. Fished another hour and a half after catching that one there ,tried a couple diff. baits without a bite so I drove somewhere else. I bet that was a good spot early in the morning before the conditions changed. Fished the next spot ,a point, for about an hour, sun was really bright now, light ripple on the water, switched to an even smaller bait a suspending shad rap. Caught 4 small largemouth, and another largemouth like the first fish just keeper size. These fish were all at the end of the cast ,bait sitting over probably 30'+ . Made about six cranks with the handle , twitch it ,and let it dead stick. Wound up with a total of 6. Several boats out, I saw at least 15. nomolites, FishnDave, dpitt and 2 others 5
Fish24/7 Posted January 6, 2021 Author Posted January 6, 2021 1/6 Fished from the bank again from 7:30-9. Overcast, light E wind. 4' visibility. Homemade Ned caught 3. My first smallmouth of the year, 12", a 13" lm, and a keeper lm. Fish were in 4-6' on gravel. There's always shallow fish somewhere. A better look at that Ned head.. Johnsfolly and Jerry Rapp 2
Fish24/7 Posted January 10, 2021 Author Posted January 10, 2021 1/9 Bank fished today close to home from 2:30-5:30. Overcast, light N wind. 35° Man did it start out slow, but the last hour and a half before dark was bonkers. That's when they fed ,late in the day. Caught 28 bass. All largemouth 10-13" except for one. Small jerk bait I custom painted. Fish were just off the bank where you couldn't see the bottom, say 6-8'. I just walked the shore making parallel casts. One bank they were on there thick! Had to roll up my pants and go shoeless into the water about knee deep to get that plug unstuck. It was worth it though. A couple casts after that she bit me. snagged in outlet 3, Cameron Gillespie, Jerry Rapp and 3 others 6

Can't tell you how many bass have been caught on Gene larew red worms and craws and red crankbaits over the years. Red jerk baits too, Jewel makes a red single spin that was a killer at night. 😉 snagged in outlet 3 1
