Dutch Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 I mostly fish Cape Fair this time of year. Lots of times it is too foggy to see how to safely motor. Researching fog it is supposed to develop when the temperature and dew point are within 4° of each other. They are the same at my house right now and it is clear. Cape Fair shows both the same but I bet fog is thicker than pea soup down there. Do any of you have an idea for determining foggy conditions when you aren’t physical there?
FishnDave Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 In Iowa, some lakes have live cameras that you can check online to see what the lake conditions look like. Some just post an updated picture every couple of minutes, and you can go back and check previous times. Like...one time my buddy texted me while I was at work, told me to check the camera at a nearby lake. I did...and I could see my buddy walking out on the lake to do some icefishing. 😃 I don't know if there's anything like that in MO....maybe some other folks can chime in? Update...I found this TV weather camera feed for Table Rock....would this be helpful? https://www.ky3.com/page/table-rock-lake/
Dutch Posted January 21, 2021 Author Posted January 21, 2021 I doubt it. That is way down the lake in big water. It get foggy at Cape Fair when no place else is. dtrs5kprs 1
Maverickpro201 Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 I read somewhere, that goose farts cause a lot of fog. Is there geese in the area? BilletHead 1
ness Posted January 21, 2021 Posted January 21, 2021 I think I read that our beloved @Mitch f is a meterologist. Any insight on that fog? What size is it? John

If that were the case then you would never be without fog at Stockton. I saw no geese today but did see 6 deer grazing in someone’s backyard.

The cool air condenses the water droplets to make the fog. snagged in outlet 3 1 -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
