BPS' new team tournament trail

Today, February 1, Johnny Morris announced a new bass team tournament trail for amateurs--no pros allowed.  It is a family-oriented event. The trail has half a dozen tourneys scattered around the country and culminates in a championship event on Table Rock.  

It is the Bass Pro Shops' US Open (you can get a link on the BPS site after 11 am today).  The highlights: all entry fees will go to habitat  and conservation and the championship team will win $1 million in cash. Total payout for the trail events will be $4.3 million.  The top 40 teams in each event will win spots in the championship.  There is no initial event in Missouri or Arkansas. Grand Lake is the closest if I remember the map correctly.

I haven't seen the details, but don't you have to fish out of something made by WRMG to be able to fish this event?

I just read on the Website it does have to be a WRMG boat.  I guess im out they killed my Pro Craft brand a long time ago

Yeah I am out too, probably would've not done it anyway, $450 per person, yikes!

another "keep the pros out" circuit.  Good luck with that.

The only real pros they are keeping out are those who are BASS elites or MLF pros. Also anyone who has entered in a $2500 tournament or made over $100,000 career earnings. There are tons of good sticks in the area that will fish it with the championship being in table rock. You have to finish in top 40 at bull snails to qualify or top 40 in another regional event

Ya it is family oriented, $450. per person and you must have one of his boats he now owns.

He did away with his sponsorship with the Shriners tournament on Truman. The man is a Joke. Buy businesses and close there doors. I will buy and fish elsewhere.

Thank you Dutch. I was kind of bored Sunday morning. Wife was out of town and I was looking for something to do besides work. I went to Academy which was enjoyable. I was like  a women looking at throw pillows. Just looked at, and touched everything. Then I ran over to BP. It just reminded me how much I dislike that store... Circus comes to mind.
