Here's my ideal boat, but if you have anything outside of these parameters, I'd still love to see it.

Fiberglass bass boat
19' or better
200 hp or better
dual console preferred

If it's a private sale, I'd need to test it out on the lake.

Been looking high and low so figured it wouldn't hurt to post it on here too.

Thanks!

No matter private or not insist on a test drive.   You might call around to boat dealers.  Not only do they have used trade-ins but many also take boats in on consignment.

I wouldn't advise insisting on it.  You can request it if you want, but if you plan to sit on the money until after you "test drive it", then you're probably not going to be buying a boat anytime soon.

You're way better off knowing what you want, and knowing what to look for.....And then use the fact that you're NOT "test driving" it, as a bargaining point.

Firing it up on a hose, and doing some flip-switch tests, is reasonable.  (Lights, Bilge, Livewell,  electronics, Trolling motor).

In many cases if you are a serious buyer the dealer will want “a good faith” deposit where you agree to buy the boat if it meets your needs.

On a fishing boat?    Please give us a list of dealers that have done that for ya.

Check the electronics and live well operation thoroughly. Check the trailer   Closely too. I know it sounds lame but I made that mistake.
