I’ve ice fished where the auger barely breaks through.   2 inches of ice would make me rethink having a bad day!

He said it's getting thicker daily. He has caught some pretty nice bluegill and crappie through the ice on a conservation area up there somewhere.

Springfield lake about 10 years ago.  Never found a big enough hole to fish.  No more of that crap for me

I live right near there. I always like when it get this cold because springfield Lake attracts alot of waterfowl then. That was when the powerplant was putting warm water in. This weekend I'll go down and see what's there

I'll fish a trout stream in way colder weather than I'm willing to get out on a lake and fish.   But yeah, were even beyond that threshold currently.

Best night of trout fishing I ever had was at the very beginning of January one year when I was in college. It was 4° at Taney that night. It was cold, but I was in a spot where the giants were stacked. I caught so many big fish that night. It was awesome. I think I still have an unfinished disposable camera with pictures on it from that night somewhere.

I had a really good day trout fishing on New years day once too, but I was in shirt sleeves.... didn't even need a jacket until the sun went down.  😊👍
