So now they want to blame septic runoff, anti-depressants, and birth control pills for making the green bass pelagic?  🙄

Couldn't possibly be all the tournaments shuffling and relocating bass every day of the week.  😏

This was of those stories about what they find in waste water and how it affected fish.  It was done on some small minnow type fish.  It wasn’t anything to do with your fish issues but you did come to mind when I saw it.  I was at the lake when I saw it or I would try and find it for you.  But it’s hillbilly cable not real cable like here in the burbs😁

It's the drugs and the tourneys, even people get lost when drugged up and if you hauled them off 50 miles from home and turned them loose they might never find their way back either. On the other hand all those growth hormones that get flushed after the fried chicken suppers is why those bass get so huge. Have to take the sweet with the sour, even if you don't like sweet.

Speaking of that.....My wife picked up some boneless chicken breasts from Save-A-Lot yesterday that were big enough to have been from a turkey.   I made a stir-fry this evening from one HALF of a breast.....and it fed 4 of us.

Judging from the size of these breast fillets, those chickens were the size of my Labrador Retriever.  😳

I refuse to eat those things.  Local butcher has little 2.75 pound chickens that are yard raised.  Good little birds.

Meat and eggs from birds that get to wander are both just plain better.

I have no idea.  Squeeze around the turbine housing, or through a crack in the foundation maybe.  That's the only reasonable explanation I can think of.

I have seen juvenile eels climbing up waterfalls to get into new water. Would give you the creeps if you didn't like seeing hundreds of squirming slimy fish clinging to and climbing the damp or wet rocks.

I have seen quite a few papers where common drugs like Prozac were found not only in the water but also in the fish tissues. Concerns were raised that bluegill and other sunfish would less aggressively defend nesting sites due to pharmaceuticals inhibiting those responses.

Lots of talk about atrazine as an endocrine active or disruptive compound that causes intersex (i.e., both oocysts and testicular tissues within the gonads of many fish species. Atrazine concentrations are way, way, way, below the concentrations of estrogens released into the environment due to birth control and hormone replacement therapies.

I've seen several of those.  They are testing the wastewater plants to see which Covid variant is present in different parts of the country.  Pretty cool technology!!
