Great trip DJ and Geno! Not sure who looked more surprised Geno or that poor trout 😅.

Make those memories and treasure them. I'm  sure that like myself, Marty and Ham would love to be able to spend just one more trip like that with our dads if we could. Can't wait to hear what you guys do next.

Thanks guys,  and yep John those of you who have had the pleasure of fishing with my bro know he's def a bit off like the rest of us :)  We're def enjoying every minute with them.  I'm def going to make it a top priority to do more of it.

For tonight's action Geno and I actually did not go to the dam tonight.   Mediocre flow with 2 units we decide to soak some worms off the dock... who knew you can relax and fish at the same time!

Tomorrow night it's on though as I think Blake and Levi are gonna roll up there with us. I'm actually in bed before 1AM... I hope I don't hurt myself lol

We ventured out on our own today and put a whackin on them.  Fished worms and minnows for the dad's and Geno and I jigged and threw the pink power worm for a bit.

Started just below fall creek and right off the bat my dad got hooked up on a worm power bait combo.  Thought he was snagged at first but he had a good fish on.  He battled him for a bit and I thought maybe he had a brown as it was staying down. Turned out to be a 19.5 bow. Tried pinching his tail and he just came up short, but he was thick and heavy and dad was tickled pink.

We continued drifting down,  spot locked in the big eddy and switched to minnows and it was on.  Bunch of stockers and eaters but they had a blast.  Nick hooked a nice bow out of that hole as well as Geno and I scrambled to keep minnows on the line and keep them catching.

We prolly boated around 45 today.  Caught our limits again to take some fish home for the fam.

The rain held off and just a bit windy today,  but just another blessed day on the lake.

Took them to Dana's tonight for dinner,  and got them back home and tucked in.  About time for Geno and I to go chase em tonight.

I envy you. Really.

I wish I could still drag my Dad to the lake or river for a day like yours.

The last time I took him fishing, we fished with a guide named Eldon out of Sportsmans. Dad caught a 4  pound rainbow and I caught a brown in the 9 pound range. At the end of the the day, he told me that would be the last trip.

I would do that trip another 20 or 30 times. If I could. I wish I had pictures.

I spent allot of years not fishing with my dad.  He was an old school bass guy, fished it hard like me, and when I was younger we'd butt heads allot as we are both stubborn.  As I get older I've realised that despite fishing being my me time, I need to be less selfish and make those memories.

@rps I'm pretty terrible taking pictures,  but our wives said we better take a bunch and we tried this trip. Wish you could of gotten pictures too, but more importantly you'll always have those memories.

Despite being tired I drug Geno out tonight.  We hit the water around 11:30 and started up from outlet #1.  I tied on a Doty SS 606 rainbow, and Geno started out with a brown trout pattern xrap, but quickly switched over to throwing a Doty SS 606 in what Duane calls the green weenie.

My first cast I got hit hard and had a chunky 15in on.  2nd cast had another decent one that popped off.  3rd cast was a solid 16in bow, 4th cast got hit like a fright train and had a nice 17in. I was starting to get excited.   Geno hadn't had a bite despite standing right next to me.  I threw him SS606 and bam first cast he caught a little smaller one.

I missed a bite, and Geno popped another one, and then they went quiet for a bit.  Was a pretty crazy first half hour of catching.  I had 6 bows landed, Geno had 3 and the smallest was 15 or 16inches...  We were sharing my net between us as Geno forgot his so that was slowing us down  a bit too.

We fished a mix of super slow cranking with just some twitches and pause to a fairly fast retrieve and really working the jerk. One things for certain they were crushing it.  Just hammering both types of retrieves.

We worked our way down past outlet 1 and after a few smaller fish I got hit way out shortly after my bait hit the water.   I knew it was solid and it was peeling line and had drag cooking for a few runs.  Finally landed her and was a nice 20in on the tape. Just a big heavy healthy bow.  Geno followed with another just a hair smaller.  Then it went quiet again for a bit.

We picked up a few more then went down past outlet 2 just to give it a try but neither of us even got a bump.   Decided to call it  at 2 am and we threw in the towel.

A pretty good night for sure,  quality over quantity, but I didn't catch a fish under 15in.

Nice bows Buddy! Surprised no browns came out to play. The size of the mouth of that big bow seems more like a male than female and he's happy to see you
