aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted April 19, 2021 Author Posted April 19, 2021 it all subjective. voltage is all about the wire size to the unit, mine read 9.6 all the time before i ran bigger wire
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted April 19, 2021 Author Posted April 19, 2021 Just got back from the lake had a decent day catching crappie.. No issues what so ever with it starting today. I guess it just needed a little lube fishinwrench 1

fishinwrench Posted April 19, 2021 Posted April 19, 2021 Just for the record, if the motor is tuned up decent, and it has already been started and run within 5-8 hours......a V6 really isn't as hard to rope start as you might think.

I just figured it would have be a hell of a pull. That thing runs like a top. couldnt be happier switching from a Opti to a carbed motor.
fishinwrench Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 😅. Yeah you'll never see anyone rope start an Optimax. That's for sure. Motor, Compressor, Alternator.....FORGET IT !
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted April 20, 2021 Author Posted April 20, 2021 OPtimax is so over engineered. way to many things to go wrong. Mine was a small one 75hp and i had 1000 hours on it and it ran fine but i knew it was a metter of time before it popped. Look at boat online with higher hp optis and almost all of them have a new power head at 300-500 hours... when they run, they run great but when they break its so hard for the garage mechanic like me to figure it out. Ive been doing 8 trips per month this year with my ole carbed motor. fresh gas is the key in my opinion, dont let them sit fishinwrench 1
fishinwrench Posted April 20, 2021 Posted April 20, 2021 I've had a half dozen or so 3cyl. Opti's come in with an unstable idle issue fresh out of warranty. I've yet to cure one of it, and neither has anyone else to my knowledge. It's obviously an emissions control issue that the ECM can't sort out. I'm a mechanic, not a computer wizard. 🙄 I can control the info being fed to the "brain" .... but I can't control what the "brain" decides to do with it. I hate to sound conspiratorial, but I almost suspect that the "brain" is programmed to start running like $#!t after a certain time-clock has expired, even though everything mechanical is 100% fine. aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted April 20, 2021 Author Posted April 20, 2021 My opti 75 i had flashed to a 115 and it was a monster on my 17 ft tracker. only issue i ever had was a coil. But the small optis never had as many issues as the 175 and bigger.

I think you butt dialed me last week at 12:30 in the morning? or perhaps you meant to......i was sound asleep sorry man.
