I didn’t get a boner over it.  I think you’re full of crap about a woman answering the door in a tee shirt and panties and all of the sudden your making whoopy.

I never said I ever threw down "all of the sudden".   There's nothing ultra-rare about circumstances like that. Ask any fairly decent looking guy that did 5-7 cable TV installs per day for any length of time, I guarantee he will have a story or three to share.

Solid abs and a tool belt just has a certain effect when the timing is right.  I have an even better story I can share over a campfire sometime.  Even if you ain't believing it..... it's worth listening to.

You've lived all these years and have never had your bones jumped?   Sorry for ya amigo 🤷‍♂️

It's not just 3 years of time, but 3 years of tuition (~30k at least), and 3 years of living expenses. It would be a mortgage sized loan. 30 years of loan payments pretty much negate the extra salary.

I have no question that it is a good choice. I just don't see how it would be feasible in my situation.

You might want to look into the MO Army or Air National Guard.  I believe using a combination of state and federal GI bill type programs they will pretty much pay your tuition.

Yes but you made it sound like it was a common occurrence.  On that I cry bravo Sierra.  I was 17 sitting on the hood of my sweet 70 mercury Monterey at In and Out Market (no kidding) eating a sub sandwich when this lady came over and started eating off the other end.  😁

Now help this guy get a job.

Starting to wonder if it would be worth it to get an Associate's in Biology or conservation science... I already have most of the elective and gen ed credits. Would probably be 3 semesters worth, most of which could be done online.

Not sure if I would ever want to be on the science side of things, but it would definitely better the odds of getting in.

Decisions, decisions.

It was piece work for us.  We got paid a certain amount for every pole climb, house wrap, wire fish, and additional outlet. And the rate for each task was plenty generous.  If you wanted to make more money you just worked harder/faster/longer.

About the only thing that would cause me to come up short of money was if, after calling and setting up the appointment,.....a gal would answer the door in panties and a T-shirt..... Because you knew the rest of your day was shot after THAT!     😲

Yea had a woman want to pay me that way.

Heck I’m only claiming 6 kids but who knows.

Think about this it will put you pushing 30. I know not that old but anymore 30 makes you older than they want to fool with.

My Son got BS at MSU but what he is doing it wasn’t really needed. Now my Daughter got her Masters at MSU using it and working from home.

You only have one short life decide while you’re young to do what you’re happy with.

Me I followed in my Dads shoes just not heard of these days.

In a nutshell prime driving school, say on the road make bank in 2 years you are golden

I’ve looked at Prime good company but I think they sell their Trucks. Thing is they decide on maintenance and you pay for it. Also they pull everything.

I drove for JB Hunt company Trucks, just Box Trailers. Could only run 500 miles. But they have changed since the old man passed.

Noooo, I did not. I said the only thing that kept me from having a very lucrative day was quitting for the day in order to take advantage of something like that.   Only happened twice in 4 years for ME, but a couple of the other guys serviced areas that increased their odds of that.

He doesn't need a job, he already has one.....he just doesn't like it anymore.   3rd world problem 🙄. He is still young, he'll figure it out.

First world problem, I think you mean.

A fulfilling career, more like.

. I have connections here that would allow an easy fall back if needed. I am not necessarily stuck here, but am not ready to throw caution into the wind and pack up for a temporary position.

You can only get a change by changing. If you can't burn those bridges then you are stuck in that place and should make the best of it. As long as you can 'go back' you won't have to go forward. You are young and single and should have some dough in the bank to carry you past the first few weeks. Picture yourself just back from a 2 year stint in the draft and dumped loose in a strange faraway city with a couple hundred bucks, could you make it, or would you need that "go back" place? You can only become self reliant by doing it. Make a plan and escape. You've been given some great advice already about bankers, accountants, lawyers  and technology degrees. The journey won't start though until you jump into the fire. First steps and all that.

Personally, even if I were keeping that job I'd move off the farm and drive to work, make them pay enough more that I could afford a place of my own and be able to leave work at work. Furnished housing is what they used to call "the quarters". No privacy, no responsibility, no independence, no reason to look away from "the place" , or think about self improvement and always available right there.
