Don’t Use Beaver Fever Fishing Guides in Arkansas

I just wanted you to know how awful our fishing trip was with your company. First off, the original time with your guide got cancelled due to him being in the hospital the night before, which I totally understand. You rescheduled us to the worst part of the day (2:00 pm) because you supposedly had nothing else open.  When we showed up, we find out that our guide is the same guy who thought he was having a heart attack the night before!! Then we get on a boat that was non-passenger friendly with a guide who obviously didn’t feel good and didn’t want to be there. He hardly talked let alone answered any questions. We traveled from Nebraska on a recommendation from a friend to your company. My family has gone on many fishing trips around the US and Canada. This by far was the worst experience we’ve  have ever had. I find it curious that you turned off the option on your website to leave reviews. I just hope this is not the case for everyone that uses your business. We tried to reach you for 2 days and you chose not to call back. Very unprofessional. We will be contacting anyone we can by any means to get the word out that you do not provide any sort of quality fishing experience. Thanks for taking away what could have been a memorable experience for my family.

That’s a bum deal 

I have been on a couple guided Striper trips on beaver and wasn’t very impressed either. 
this past spring We went to Tennessee and striper fished on the Clinch River with a guide. The fishing was great and the guide was excellent.

Here is the deal.  Took me 5 different trips with 3 different guides on Beaver before the boat even got a bite, going at prime time in prime season. 

Not here to criticize anyone of them except on their honesty.  When your striper fishing on beaver there is a real possibility of failure.  They kind of lead you on that success is inevitable, and nothing could be further from the truth. 

You have a shot at a big fish. Not you really, but the boat.  Pick your season and Jeffery, I'm going to put this on you. Do some research, never should have went fishing for any species at 2 in the afternoon. That's on you.  Period, no excuse. 

Arkansas needs to square themselves away, not a person anywhere should be guiding without a federal ticket, not just a slip of paper you buy at Wal-Mart, cause you decided you have a tub and want to be a guide. 

There has been several nightmare stories this year reported on the White River down there with just about the same story Jeffery just posted. Crappy guide, crude boats and broken and used fishing gear.   

There are so many trips now that every Moe and Joe can use his unlicensed brother in law to take trips. Doesn't matter to Moe or Joe cause he doesn't have a license anyways. 

Really have not seen this in Missouri as even the new guys and there are some all have Federal Licenses, insurance and seem to have excellent boats and equipment and plenty of knowledge to use it. The resorts and Marinas demand it here as does every state BUT Arkansas. 

I love our brothers to the South in Arkansas, but its time for them to become professional or someone needs to get them off the water.

Listen it’s called fishing for a reason.  Hit or miss and we didn’t have unrealistic expectations.  
 

Yeah we wanted to go early in the morning but weren’t really given any option but 2 PM.  Bad thing was just the unprofessionalism of the way the issues were handled.  Owner should have stepped up and taken us out like we had scheduled.

Your right on the unprofessionalism but for gosh sakes you have the wallet and you said yes.

Bill is 100% correct.  If given the option for a full refund or a 2pm trip, I would have been taking the refund even if it was a planned trip that we had been looking forward to for months.  I've had the same situation happen where a guide got sick and they were going to send us with a new guide who had only been guiding for 2 weeks.  He didn't have glowing reviews so we chalked it up to "sometimes things just dont work out the way you want" and went about our day and found an alternative plan.

2 PM or full refund?  We would have taken the full refund. Unfortunately we weren’t given that opportunity.  We’ll be back, and with someone else who is knowledgeable and with professionalism in mind.

I can understand your frustration but it doesn’t carry as much weight since you just joined yesterday to bbq this guy on the forum.  Just sayin….
