Is the St Louis Cabelas still open? I remember that the mall looked dead the last time I drove by that way.

I have been following social and economic trends the last few years…mainly a force of habit as before I retired, I owned and ran a small advertising agency….Covid has expedited many changes, just as the housing bubble burst changed how we live and buy forever….the new snowflake generation are more likely to Uber everywhere than buy a car. Gather at someone’s place and cook than eat out. Stream movies than go to the Theater…Many have never picked up a newspaper or used cash…it has been difficult for those in their early 30s down to meet people…men increasingly check out and only interact with online porn, gaming while living at home…toxic feminism is in a full blow assault on manhood…Wokeness and cancel culture has permeated our entertainment…..things have changed quickly, because of the lockdowns outdoor pursuits have grown exponentially, but more with people over 35…at least concerned grandparents have taken to introducing  the grandkids to the outdoors….the next 10 years will be interesting, heck the next 3 will shape how our future unfolds…buckle up it’s going to be a ride

I agree with most but the cooking at home for get togethers. These people don't know how to cook. The trend is ordering food.

It is.  This will be Johnny's third store in the St. Louis area.

I am really surprised they didn't do away with both of the others and build a massive store combining both BP and Cabela's where the old Chrysler plant in Fenton resided.  Would have been a great location to put one.  The St. Charles BP Sportsman Warehouse was always so underwhelming to me for a large city like St Louis when KC has a big Outdoor World store and even Columbia MO has a bigger Sportsman Center.

Guess the lease on the Hazelwood Cabelas is coming to a close and they want to shutter it.

From what I understand it's staying open, even when the athletic complex goes in up there.
