jdmidwest Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 John Madden is gone. https://www.foxnews.com/sports/nfl-super-bowl-coach-john-madden-dead-at-85 I have never been one to waste time on the weekend hovering around a TV watching football. Unless I was with friends and the weather was bad. Coach, Sportscaster, hard not to enjoy his show. Even played the PC Madden Football back in its first gaming days with some friends. snagged in outlet 3 Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 85 years old. Great announcer. Iconic. Johnsfolly 1
Johnsfolly Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 I remember hating him when the Raiders and Steelers were perennial rivals back in the 70s and 80s. I got over that as he excelled in the booth. snagged in outlet 3 and ness 2
Quillback Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 Watched many a game where he was in the booth, sorry to see him go. Didn't realize he was 85, thought he was in his 70's.
Terrierman Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 He was a great coach and maybe even better announcer. We'll miss him.
Johnsfolly Posted December 29, 2021 Posted December 29, 2021 I heard a story that Madden really hated these impersonations until his grandkids liked them. ness 1
