Fishrman Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 Fished the Kimberling area today for a bit. Tried to make them eat a jerkbait but only managed 2 doing that, one keeper. Cranking took up the rest of the day. Caught 8 with 4 keepers on a RK in brown. WT 51. m&m, SplitG2, Quillback and 3 others 6
Quillback Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 Was curious as to the water temp, still hanging above 50 looks like. Friend of mine caught a drum yesterday that he estimates was in the 25 lb. range on an ice jig. dtrs5kprs and grizwilson 2

What a blast to catch the random beast like that. I caught a 15lb drum on Ky Lake a few years back. I recall fighting that thing, thinking about how I can't wait to call my wife to tell her I'd caught the biggest bass of my life...then I saw it It put up a heck of a fight! dtrs5kprs, Johnsfolly and Quillback 3 "Advantages are taken, not handed out"

I have never caught a drum on TR, and that was the first one my buddy has caught there and he fishes that lake a lot. I caught a 15 lber. on Beaver a few years ago, still have the pic. Caught it on a Ned rig, and it did pull, thought it was a striper. m&m, dtrs5kprs, snagged in outlet 3 and 3 others 6

I've never seen one on TR, even back when I was up the rivers all the time. Always assumed there had to be some, but you just don't run into them. You'd think there would be some eating Neds around the 13 bridge and its riprap. Have caught channels and flathead there, no drum. Quillback 1
Bill Babler Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 In all my years I’ve only seen a couple. Catch one every other cast on Lake O. dtrs5kprs 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

Quillback Posted January 10, 2022 Posted January 10, 2022 Cross the border into OK and they do well, Eucha and Spavinaw have them too. Was doing a bit of reading on them, supposedly they do better in clear water than dingy. That doesn't seem to fit the mold around here.
