If so then I feel for ya. I've always been extra careful to NEVER be out on a boat when it was ON FIRE.....and luckily I've been spared that experience thus far.

Expand I don't swim well at all and I doubt I'd do any better with third-degree burns. I'll pass on the lithium ions for now. Lead acid still serves the purpose for me. dtrs5kprs 1

The power demands of some of y'all's rigs is bordering on insanity. To think of all the fish caught/ tournaments won/ records set/ ect. without all those VOLTS in the past......is astounding. 😂 cheesemaster, Champ188 and dtrs5kprs 2 1

Expand it happened on the way back to the ramp, about half a mile from buffalo city. I saw smoke coming from under the deck and I kept the hammer down until we got back to the ramp. Lead acid still serves the purpose for me. Expand My issue was actually not common. if you buy a battery with LiFePo cells(lithium iron phosphate) that becomes a non-issue. They are not as energy dense as LiPo batteries but are far safer. fishinwrench and bfishn 2 everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

Members BillT Posted January 21, 2022 Members Posted January 21, 2022 I haven't kept up with battery improvements. Do they have batteries which can handle 12V trolling motor and start outboard motors. I've a 12V trolling motor and a 40HP 2011 Mercury and would that be advisable?
