edwin
Howdy folks - I'm in the market for a new rod to throw RC's, Warts, etc. I've been using a 6' medium Cameron Rod that I bought in the late 90's. They were supposedly built with Loomis blanks, bought it from the now gone Hwy 13 tackle store that was just north Sportsman's One Stop. It's been a great little rod but the cork is starting to come apart, new stuff is always fun and I'd like to keep the economy going. It's time to delegate it to dock use. If you were going to buy a new rod for the RC and wanted to keep it around or below $250, what would you suggest? I can’t say for sure what it costs new - I think around your price point. I got mine from magicwormman at a nice price. I think Kistlers run from 200 to 400 but I didn’t pay that much. swelbo1

Tight lines, Edwin For that amount you can have a custom rod built just the way you want it. I have a rod that was built by the former owners of Ark Rod. It is a great rod and I wanted a second one so I took it to my rod guy so he could try to get one similar. The custom rod is way better than the original one. dtrs5kprs
I use my ancient Zell Rowland All Star topwater rods, and a St Croix Premier medium (SCII graphite- not the crankbait blank), all 6'6". I built a long rod for it, but haven't warmed up to it after eight or nine years.
Royal Blue
Dobyns Champion XP 704 CB or CB Glass. I know Jewel has just launched a Virtus rod for these as well. I use Lew's KVD CC4 and a Dobyns Champion XP 704 CB and really like both. NebSchmidty

Will have to give it a whirl with the RC. Thank you! dtrs5kprs 1 "Advantages are taken, not handed out"
