cheesemaster Posted February 12, 2022 Posted February 12, 2022 I am kicking around the idea of getting a new bass boat (maybe next spring). There is a small bass boat manufacturer in Louisiana that custom build bass boats - called Pro Gator. A friend of mine referred them to me - cost is similar to the Nitro but a much better boat - so he says. Do any of you have any experience with them? I would like hear what you have to say.
Dutch Posted February 12, 2022 Posted February 12, 2022 I haven't heard of them. I'd be interested to know more about them. Do you know what company they use for motors? Do you keep your boat at the house or down at a dock?
fishinwrench Posted February 12, 2022 Posted February 12, 2022 I rigged a small fleet of 19' center console bay boats, and I have had several of the bass boat models in for various repairs. I really dig the center console boats, they run out really good and are a breeze to do repairs on (pumps, plumbing, electrical circuits are easy to get to, and are neatly installed). Not nearly as impressed with the bass boats. If you are a fan of Cajun boats you'll recognize them immediately and feel right at home. dtrs5kprs and cheesemaster 2

Layout, handling,? My buddy told me that they gel coat the battery compartments also.

I haven't driven them..... but I really don't think I need to, I can tell how it's going to handle just by looking at it. To be blunt I kinda see them as a boat designed for short fat guys that always sit down to fish. cheesemaster and dan hufferd 2

IMO they shoulda left the bassboat market alone.....and just concentrated on those. 👍 Pretty darn sweet! nomolites, cheesemaster, dtrs5kprs and 1 other 4
Bill Babler Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 After looking at that bass boat hull it looks like it would beat the beegeebers out of you on Lake O. or the Rock. Also guessing on a 3 quarter head wind it would soak you to the bone. There are just to many good bass boats out there with local dealers to stand behind them here to make a move like that unless they were so low cost it was strict a money decision I wouldn't poo poo the Nitro to much right now as since Johnny bought Triton and Ranger, Nitro has become the flagship for those lines. Just an opinion and you know the story about those. grizwilson, dtrs5kprs, dan hufferd and 1 other 4 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
