US Trucker Convoy coming through Springfield next week

We have a "kid" in our neighborhood, mid 20's. He has a recumbent bike that is electric powered.   He likes to watch the trains cross just outside of the neighborhood.   He has his bike all lit up like Christmas, looks neat at night.

Ch. 10 was the local "call channel" where I grew up.   I still remember everyone's "handle" that I used to communicate with.  Man there was some loose women in the ol'brick city at that time.    Loose MARRIED women 😳 Sheesh, it's a wonder nobody got killed.  

Those were some fun times. 🙂

A girl I went to school with didn't come home one night, and all of us CBers went searching.   Took all night and into the next day but she was found.  Her and her date were trapped in a 4x4 that had rolled in a dry creek bed that ran through a corn field.  Her mom was a nurse and she (Lindy 16) was in the truck holding the barrel of a Bic pen in her boyfriend's throat.   She had given him a tracheotomy.....Saved his life !     

God, what an ordeal that was !

Wow! Either that’s a helluva coincidence or ol’ uncle Red did write that song. If so, he cleaned the story up a bunch.

Anyhoo, the old man saw I had knack for getting people to cry and cough up money, so he ran a new fundraising idea past me. I can’t get into details too awful much due to pending litigation, but I’ll say it involved Christmas and some shoes for momma.
