I am very torn between the two units  any input would be great. If I do pull the trigger on the Garmin I would go with a 12 inch screen and the Bird I would go Solix 15 inch. Someone told me that the Garmin are easier to use and less problem’s and a better  resolution? Give me your thoughts guys!

The tech is completely different so comparing which is easier would depend on who is using it. If I was choosing between the two, I'd go with Livescope. The real time feedback is just hard to beat.

I've fished with both and Livescope really is just a lot better. It's the best in the business. Personally, I think it goes

1) Livescope

2) Mega 360

100980890808) Active Target. That thing is atrocious.

and then you have guys like Josh Jones that are now using Active Target after using Livescope for years and still crushing giant bass and crappie like no other. One may look prettier than the other, but the guy behind it is the real factor. They will catch them regardless of which brand they use. Lowrance was smart to get him onboard IMO. It amazes me how people will buy something because so and so uses it instead of just getting on YouTube and watchin the thousands of reviews that compare tech and formulate their own opinions.

I just installed a livescope this week. The system seems user friendly, and not overly technical. The times I have used it in other boats sold me. Great tool for locating schools of crappie or for drop shot suspended bass.

Ryan, you must have looked at one that's just out of wack. I've seen at least 5 different ones in action and they were all good. Not Pan optic good, but blew the mega live out of the water.

Eye, wait till May when you can get your hands on the Live Scope plus. Or from what I'm hearing a new model this Fall from Bird

Of course you can go ahead and get the mega 360 and wait for the improved mega live that's supposed to be coming if you like the Birds.

There are some Killer Live YouTube's vids out there comparing under real conditions on the water.

If they keep saying they are coming out with a new and improved version in 6 months or a year, I'll never get one.  I am going to wait until one comes out that is the ultimate, it's so perfect that it can't be improved upon.  Which means I'll be running my 10 year old birds forever.

Still have a grayscale X-17 on the console from 2005. Will, until it won't.
