snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 1, 2022 Posted May 1, 2022 Got out after the rain. Pretty warm and water temp 61. I caught a few dinks spots and smallies then a couple decent ones. Hooked something big and knew right away it was a smallie. I figured a drum. But this cat smoked a crank and wrapped in some wood. I got it and it 23 inches. I didn’t weigh it. Then a big drum towed me around forever. I wanted my crank back😆. I finally got it in the net but I threw right back out of the net. Unfortunately I’ve weighed a few and I would say it 7-8 pounds. Fun day but not a lot of target species. Pics for @Johnsfolly Gavin, Daryk Campbell Sr, Greasy B and 6 others 9

rps Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 As slimy, nasty, and off putting as they are, I admit I have enjoyed every accidental flathead catch I have made. Never kept one for me, but I have given more than one to close by fishermen. Then I spent 10 or more minutes trying to clean the line, the net, my hands, and even my rod tip. snagged in outlet 3 and Johnsfolly 2

I cut my line off it was so slimed up. He actually flopped and broke my measuring board. Knocked about 3” off it. He sure whacked a crank bait. Johnsfolly 1
