The trucks are covered in mud, the electric fillet knives are all smoking hot, and every buzzard in the county is circling my place today. πŸ™‚

Somebody had better call the game warden !   😎

Β  Did not happen for me and my favorite streams. Not there at right time and the rite times only lasted a day or two that I know of. Rain and high muddy water. Well done!

Nice!! Β  Β Is it later than normal this year? Β  Β

Definitely.Β  And the best is still yet to come.Β  The big girls haven't even shown up yet.Β  Β Β

The lake is still a foot too low, but a sizable group of males shot up during the gullywasher Saturday morning.Β

I can remember when the whites run in late March and early April.Β  This global warming is pushing up the warmer stream temps into May along with the frosts.

Yeah, it seems that you can't time spring fish movements with the daffodils, redbuds, or dogwoods anymore.Β Β

Kinda squashes the old "length of daylight" theory.Β  Β  It obviously hinges more on water temp, than the length of the day.

Seems like that is the key.Β  Everything is retarded this year but the plants.Β  But, the dogwoods went from flowers to leaves in a few days instead of weeks this year.

Back in the day, Spring Woods were full of redbuds and dogwoods blooming out before everything else really greened up and stood out like sore thumbs on hillsides.Β  This year they were covered up by everything else that greened before them.
