Quillback Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 They haven't posted the full results, but from the live page, the boater winner had 16-6 and the backseat winner had 12-14.
Dock-in-it Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 Assuming there were approx 200 boaters, less than 30 had a limit. The two previous BFL winners on TR (April) had about 5# each (they are extremely good with FFS). So the extreme water level/visibility change made it tough. bobby b. 1
dtrs5kprs Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 That's...surprising. Fish are pretty catchable if you're open minded about it. bobby b. and mixermarkb 2

Our minds could certainly use some “opening” apparently. We stunk it up. Amazingly nice day though especially considering that we’re here and the least boat traffic I’ve seen on this lake in quite a few years. Felt like being on Bull Shoals compared to what we’ve come to expect. Dunno where everybody was but we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Except for the silence of the fish……🎣 shark bait and dtrs5kprs 2 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." George Carlin "The only money ever wasted is money never spent." Me.

BFL, HS, few obvious club or jackpot guys. Had a hilarious moment with one particular boat. It's fishing very similar to how I remember 2011 fishing after that jump. Almost like an early summer bite. We haven't found any good ones up in the bushes yet. I'm sure mileage varies on that. bobby b. 1

Only caught a handful on a shaky head and ned rig and not in places that you normally catch them when the water is up. dtrs5kprs 1

Except for the silence of the fish……🎣 Think back to what the fish were doing before the rise. A good many of them were on beds. If they were able to spawn, do you think they would leave the beds until the fry have hatched? I don't think they will. That being said it seems logical to focus your attention on the area of the water column where most of the bass were. Whenever we get a rise during the spawn most of the better fish will be caught around the original bank line or where it was when the spawn took place. seabass03 1
