Dutch Posted June 4, 2022 Posted June 4, 2022 My best friend and I used to leave the house every Saturday morning at 03:30 and drive to Ozark Beach. We were the first to arrive. We used whole kernel corn soaked in balls of fire nectar. We would always take a double limit home and be back to Hurley by 07:30 so my wife could fix fried trout for breakfast. Those were good times. Quillback and Johnsfolly 2

Oddly enough I am thinking the corn kernels soaked in balls of fire nectar might make some good hush puppies.!

By the way I don't keep under length smallies when I eat them. The MDC told me there have been reports of them in MO, although they are not native here. Some pay-to-fish ponds near St Louis apparent have/had some, according to MDC. I also checked iNaturalist, there are no reports for them in MO... Can I at least start an uproar over whether they might be invasive, and walk on land, and eat every other fish in every water they are/have ever been in? BilletHead and Johnsfolly 2

From my experience white catfish are likely being displaced by channels and certainly blues. I would doubt that they could ever be considered as invasive. But uproar away 😉. I used to tell my daughter that you can tell that it is a white catfish from a channel since it doesn't bite the crap out of your thumb when you lip one 🤣. FishnDave 1
