fishinwrench Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 My daughter traded Jeeps and it has been a genuine ordeal getting it properly licensed. Her first trip to the license bureau required a lien release FROM THE DEALERSHIP she bought it from. 🤔 Second trip they said they needed "authentic milage certification" 🙄 (never heard of that one). So she has to go back to the dealership and have one of their certified techs sign off on the milage. Of course the service department is swamped.....so it'll be next week before anyone can break away to do THAT......and she WORKS from 8:30-6;00 (dealership hours are 9-5 of course). Meanwhile she's driving around just waiting to be pulled over by a cop and given a ticket for improper registration. She has to drop her car off.... WITH THE KEYS IN IT......and Uber to work....and Uber home, then Uber back the dealership and go into work late the next day so she can pick up her jeep and the "certification", and key, after 9:00......Then make a 3rd trip BACK to the license bureau within 48 hours of the certification date/time. This is Kansas City BS ! 🤬 BilletHead 1
fishinwrench Posted June 22, 2022 Posted June 22, 2022 One of these days, somebody that has had all that they can stand, is gonna go into a license bureau armed to the teeth.......and I hope like hell I'm not there when it happens. 🥴

This is Kansas City BS ! 🤬 Most all are privately bid offices. I like some of the rural ones. Usually helpful and joking around. They really do not have anything to do with the government, just make a commission off what goes thru. Mostly bitter middle-aged gals (Karen's) whose goal in life is to prevent anyone who comes into contact with them from having a pleasant and chill day........UNLESS you just happen to be a relative, or a friend of her family.

We've got an itty bitty office in town & the ladies there have always been pleasant to me, though I've heard they can get unhelpful if they don't like you/catch 'em on a bad day. Went down to the office in Bolivar once & they were beyond friendly & helpful. Maybe just an issue of having to deal with KCMO snowflakes?
DADAKOTA Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 Those problems are on the dealership. They should have provided all the documents at the time of sale. She should be raising heck with them. nomolites, grizwilson, snagged in outlet 3 and 1 other 4
DADAKOTA Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 Instead of Ubering and all that just have fishndoug take the vehicle in, get the paperwork, and go get it registered for her. He is retired and has nothing better to do. Doug I need a guide replaced.
Terrierman Posted June 23, 2022 Posted June 23, 2022 One relatively recent change for the better is permanent tags for trailers. They are the only way to go. Then no matter how many trailers you might have, you only need one license plate.🎯 BilletHead, snagged in outlet 3 and grizwilson 3
