May not be far enough north for some of you but I'm headed to Lake Oahe this week. Tournament results from this weekend validate my reason

I'd rather stay in the US too.  Upper Mississippi would be nice too.

I’ve been to Mille Lacs, Sturgeon Bay, and boundary waters up north.

Mille Lacs was great smallmouth fishing plus some nice walleye/pike.

Sturgeon Bay we had a tough day because the waves were too high and the guide couldn’t get out to the better areas…still want to give it another try.

Boundary lakes are good but some have motor restrictions and/or limited ramps.

This place has boats staged on 40 Lakes within an hour of the lodge. They are nice folks. Cabins were clean, food was good, boats & motors work, and their prices are reasonable. Lots of the MSA guys go up there. About an hour and twenty from International Falls.

My wife is not happy about your recommendation about now. But I almost have her talked into going. She's such a chicken. She's afraid if she goes to Canada a bear will get her.

I saved that link, might head up there someday when circumstances allow.

We went to Stockton with some friends on Saturday. No fishing, they are just boat people. We all four went to high school together. We were looking for a place to anchor up and swim but the wind was making that a challenge. We finally chose to tie to a tree. Clean area with a big old tree and deep open water out if front of us to float in. We were probably twenty yards off the bank. His wife says aren't we a little close to the shore? And he told her it was far enough. My wife asked her what was wrong with being close to the shore and her friend told her that the snakes won't get too far from the shore and that they are scared of deep water. I looked over at her husband and he is giving me the silent NO hard. But it was too late. The next thing you hear is my wife telling her she was an idiot. Our chicks are gullible, but cute.
