First time i havebt been on the road working on my birthday in years so i loaded up and ran down to Bridgeport. WT 78. I didnt get launched until 9:30. Catching was great overall. Ended up catching 23 in 4 1/2 hours. Only two were keeps and not by much.  Found a decent shallow jig bite in Flat Creek, I could only get bit with a max scent chunk as a trailer. Tried a rage craw but no luck. Stopped by the bridge and it was just a topwater fest like always. They come up schooling and will hit about anything.  Thought it was a perfect time to try out the savage gear snake that has been in my box for years.  ITs a really cool bait but the hook up ratio sucks, it only has 2 hooks and they are in kinda in the middle of it.  It has a bill on it and two different line ties, so you can wake it.  And man it looks good swimming.  Im going to tinker with it and see if i cant add a hook more on the tail somehow.   When they were not on top schooling i would throw a jerkbait through them and pick a few up.  Not a lot of size but it is a lot of fun. If anyone has kids i would say park under that bridge and just wait for the action and they would have a blast.  Its been like that everyday i have been this summer there.
