Sprint21fter Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 Finished 21st out a 186 boat field. Bittersweet, left them biting the first day to manage the fish. Weighed 14.5 lbs nothing over 3.25 lbs. Second day, head scratcher the first couple of hours with wind and clouds only 1 keeper. Wait it’s fall fishing! Anyways worked topwaters/crankbait /spinnerbaits/jigs. Had 7 total bites, 6 were keepers, caught 2 one was a 4lber. Weighed 7.98 for 3 fish. Blessed to have the opportunities. Good luck everyone! WT: 70-71. Carl W, Dock-in-it, big c and 7 others 10
Bassin4fun Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 It is crazy what a difference a day can make. Sounds like you still did well. Did you mostly fish the bank? What depths seemed to do the best? I am hoping to get out Friday morning...and will definitely be on Table Rock Sunday morning.

WT: 70-71. Awesome job we were 14th and pretty much the exact same thing happened to us . 14.6 had us in 4th the first day . Day two was a lot tougher . First fish was 3.0 and didn’t come until 9:00 . Second fish 4.0 was minutes later . Fished forever without a bite. In the last hour I missed a big one on the jig. A few casts later I broke a fish off on the set . Next cast caught a 2.0 . Had a few others Sunday slap at the top water and just splash it . Sunday we had 3 fish for 9.07. I love fall fishing, the bite is very tough and you never really know where the next bite is coming from.
Quillback Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 Bass fishing has been tough on the Rock lately. I believe the Toyota owners tourney is this coming Saturday, it will be interesting to see the results.
Members stealthycat Posted October 11, 2022 Members Posted October 11, 2022 our lower unit went out - we trolling motor/idled in the take off cove and around bridge .... toughest fishing I've had in a decade? we had 2 keepers in 2 days, i think I only caught 5 total fish (finesse baits) 3 years fishing it, 3 years motor trouble ... we've not had a chance yet to fish it really
Bill Babler Posted October 11, 2022 Posted October 11, 2022 Hate to report this, but the skuttlebutt from some of the Toyota guys is that they are hammering them. Topwater and jig is what I’m hearing with the jig really being the deal. Some shallow and some on a big jig deep. Pattern seems to be top and little jig early and big jig deeper as the day moves along. Guess the results will tell the tail. Bassin4fun 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Sprint21fter Posted October 12, 2022 Author Posted October 12, 2022 There were 2 things working for the guys that were successful, 1 was a deep jig on structure/brush piles. Not my thing, 2 was a shallow power fishing deal: topwater, squarebill, trap fishing on long shallow flats! Upper sections of the lake were the most productive if your a shallow guy! My two cents! The mystery tournament format. maybe that’s something different?
Quillback Posted October 13, 2022 Posted October 13, 2022 It's on TR I believe, the Toyota Bonus Bucks is what it is called. Maybe there is another on Stockton?

It’s also hosted by Big Cerdar Lodge, so guessing and after speaking to guys practicing here for it I’m pretty sure. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
