Going to see our friend Glen on Thursday to get a new water impeller installed on my drift boat and to work on his deck boards.

I spend a lot of nights in hotels. It sucks. The expense doesn't come out of my pocket but I still have a travel budget that I have to stick to. Some of my favorite places no longer make the cut because of the expense, but I did get to stay in some pretty nice hotels during the pandemic way cheaper than a Motel 6.

I can still find a nice place to stay at a decent rate, just have to stay a little farther out usually. Either that or stay in a cheap hotel and I'm not doing that.

The hotel business really took it in the teeth during the pandemic, but they are coming back strong. Revenues are up around 45%, over pre pandemic levels.

Many years ago we foreclosed on a hotel that we had the loan on. Our chairman is a pretty frugal guy, and he wasn't going to let the former owners walk off with the liquor from the bar. So a bunch of us went there, loaded up our cars with the booze, brought it back to the bank and stuck it in a storage room. It was a lot, but about 75% was the cheap stuff. Over the next few months it became 100% the cheap stuff. :D Pretty sure it was the chairman taking it home, because none of us that knew it was there would have done it.

None of it here, and it's NEVER the offseason!

We also foreclosed on a huge piece of undeveloped land in Olathe a while back. We're talking millions here. Chairman found out there were some bee hives on it, so he told our REO guy to figure out how to get the honey. We've still got the property - do you need a side hustle? :D

Any fishing ponds on it.  I mean if yes, the least you can do is make sure they are in good shape.

                    Wish I was closer,

Watch those hives! Bee theft is big business!  Call your local beekeeping club. You are a middleman so get your cut.
