Is Cardiac Hill dead.  It is worth the heart attack and something I should try?

Mic, obviously you know what you're doing (I just read your other posts about going for a swim). I think you should go check out cardiac and report back :)

LOL... well that's not helpful.

I haven't been down there in years. It's quicker to access the river just down the road a Suicide Hill. Go down on to the left of the access if facing the river. Pretty easy to walk to Meramec Springs and back from there. Its only about 2 miles one way.

I did Cardiac a couple of years ago. Fishing was tough for me, but the group I went with seemed to do ok. I was wore out, and swore to never go back. I would go back, but I know to be physically ready.

I've never been to suicide.

With names like Cardiac Hill and Suicide Hill is it any wonder I've never been to either and don't feel bad about it?

Those names have kept plenty away.

There was a time that the Meramec was managed really well for browns.  And those extra steps were worth it.

That was back when the guys doing the raising and stocking were drunken hillbillies with a 7th grade education, and no fancy vehicles.

That was back when Heck was a pup.  I lived in St. Charles for a few years and fished that river a little bit.  It's still a heck of a fishery but still.... different now.

I was working in St.Chuck during that time period.   I probably installed your cable TV.

Guess what - I fished everywhere I wanted with a 1648 jon with a 9.9 Evinrude.  Very little dragging - but honestly some.  I wasn't quite poor at the time, but not what you would call flush.  Had a lot of fun on that river in that boat.
