I use them on a few of my set ups, I just like them so i dont bruise my stomach from setting the hook. 

Im a big fan of the Fenwick HMG's, i have a few and they are great

I am also, but down to one 6'6 spinning, older model, last new I picked up not the same??

For a medium spinning rod, I’m very Happy with the Falcon Cara Squirrel Tail.  I have a St Croix Eyecon that I like very much. I think it is a 6’3” jig and rig rod. Great for Ned’s and Finesse jigs.

I know what you mean, i went to get another one last summer and just didnt like the feel so i settle for a cheaper Shimano that works just fine for what i wanted
